Exercise and Energy
The health benefits of physical exercise are well known. We are all familiar with how regular exercise can strengthen our cardiovascular system and maintain musculature. What is often omitted from the conversation about the benefits of exercise is its positive energetic effects on the body. In addition to helping your heart, lungs, and muscles, exercise is extremely healthy and beneficial to your energy system.
The dynamics of lifting weights, playing sports, swimming, jogging, etc. require stretching, contracting, and rotating your body. This sort of activity in a part of your body causes the corresponding chakra/s to pulsate. Repeated movement cleans the corresponding chakras, removing dirty, used energy, and leaving them ready to receive new, fresh energy. With major and minor chakras found throughout our head, torso, limbs, and organs, exercise that involves movement of the whole body can clean and energize multiple chakras simultaneously. Not only does exercise help you absorb fresh energy, it also helps this energy flow throughout your body. Just as regular physical activity helps blood and oxygen circulate, it also allows energy to move more easily and efficiently through the meridians to where it is needed.
The positive energetic benefits of exercise can be furthered if you exercise in an energetically healthy environment. If you exercise outdoors, your clean chakras will be able to draw in high quality air, solar, and ground prana (For more on the types of prana, see my blog on this topic here). Aquatic sports in the ocean, such as swimming or surfing, have the added benefits of cleansing salt water to further remove dirty energy.
The next time you take your morning jog or play a tennis match, take some enjoyment out of the fact that not only are you helping your physical body but you are doing wonders for your energetic body as well.
