Trusting Your Body

Do you ever feel that there is something not quite right with your health? People ask you how you are doing and you know that when you answer “Fine”, that it isn’t quite the truth.

When you know that something is “off”, you’re always right. The body, mind, and spirit work together to communicate to us what they need to stay healthy. It’s a remarkable system and one of the reasons I refer to my work as “facilitating” healing as the majority of the work is done by supporting the client’s self-healing. It is said in Craniosacral Therapy that we are following the guidance of your “inner physician”. Your body is the best expert on its own health and knows at its core what it needs. Unfortunately, in our modern society, we are constantly on the go and paying more attention to our to-do lists than messages from our bodies. By ignoring the whispers of small problems and the feeling that something is “off”, the problems grow, and if left unchecked can turn into a health crisis at which point our body must yell to get our attention.

This month I encourage you to reconnect with your body and listen for the whispers. If something is off, don’t ignore it, because your body is never wrong. Address it before the problem grows. You and your body are a team, learn to listen and appreciate that it is supporting you and trying to help and protect you.
