The Heart Chakras

February is here and Valentine's Day is right around the corner. It is a day of love, symbolized by the heart, an image that is inescapable on February 14th. Heart shaped boxes of candies, heart shaped Valentine’s cards, and heart shaped balloons are gifted every year to the people we love. With hearts on our mind, I feel it is a fitting time to talk about our heart chakras and their role in healing.

Every person has a front and back heart chakra. We are familiar with the importance of the physical heart, but are you aware our heart chakras play an important role in not only the health of our physical heart, but also our lungs? Blockages, congestion, or depletion of energy in these chakras over time prevent the heart and/or lungs from having the energy needed to maintain their healthy state. Without this fuel to maintain health, disease or illness can manifest in these organs.

In addition to feeding energy to two of our most important organs, the heart chakras play an important role in our emotional health. Empathy, forgiveness, compassion, trust, gratitude, and connectedness all are heavily influenced by the heart chakras. When they are congested and dirtied, not only does our physical health diminish, but our ability to actualize loving emotions is diminished and our relationships with others suffer. In contrast, when we practice true, unconditional love for others, our heart chakras grow. Their importance is clear when you visualize life without the ability to love, forgive, or trust. What would life be without any meaningful relationships?

This Valentine’s Day, use the talk of love and images of hearts as a reminder to be cognizant of your own heart, your ability to connect, and willingness to express love and kindness to others. If these feelings do not flow freely, your heart chakras may be congested, from any number of sources. Soured relationships, betrayals, and other emotional hurt can be the cause and it will ultimately manifest as an ailment in the physical form if untreated. Pranic Healing is a fantastic way to correct this and return your heart chakras to loving form.
